Polite Parade

Once upon a time, in the land of Frosty Feathers, there lived a little penguin named Pippa. Pippa was a joyful penguin with a shiny black-and-white coat. Every morning, she loved to slide and glide across the icy snow with her friends. The penguin world was full of fun, and every day was an adventure!

One sunny morning, Pippa waddled over to her friends gathered in a circle. They were all excited because today was the Great Penguin Parade. It was the day when penguins from all around would come together to show off their polite and good manners. Pippa flapped her wings happily, ready to join in.

But there was a new friend in the land of Frosty Feathers. His name was Waddlewig, and he was a bit grumpy. Waddlewig didn't like parades, and he didn't know much about being polite. He always wanted to win the best penguin award, but he used to stomp and huff a lot.

When Pippa saw Waddlewig, she decided she wanted to help him learn about good manners in a fun way. "Come join us, Waddlewig!" she chirped. "Let's have the happiest parade!"

Waddlewig looked at Pippa and said, "I don't know, I'm not good at being nice all the time."

Pippa smiled and said, "It's easy! All you need is a smile and to say magic words like 'please' and 'thank you'.

Waddlewig scratched his head. "Okay, I'll try," he mumbled. So they practiced together. Pippa showed Waddlewig how to greet others with a happy "Hello!" and how to share fishy snacks with a kind "Here you go!"

With every little lesson, Waddlewig felt a warm, tingly feeling inside. His grumpy frown began to turn into a smile. "This feels nice," he said with a soft giggle.

The day of the parade arrived. The snow sparkled like sugar, and the air was crisp and cool. Penguins gathered, big and small, all around the icy field. Pippa and Waddlewig waddled to the front, ready to lead the parade.

As they marched, Pippa waved her flippers with joy. She greeted everyone with a friendly nod. Waddlewig followed, trying his best, and whenever he felt unsure, he'd glance at Pippa and remember her kind words.

The penguins danced and twirled, their happy chatter filling the air. "Look at Waddlewig," whispered some penguins. "He's smiling today!"

Waddlewig felt so proud. He joined in the fun, saying "Please" when he wanted to play and "Thank you" when a penguin shared a treat.

At the end of the parade, the elder penguin, Pufferton, gathered everyone around. "Today was special," he said. "We've seen such good manners from everyone."

Pippa and Waddlewig waddled forward. Pufferton smiled at them and said, "Thanks to Pippa's kindness, Waddlewig has shown us the magic of good manners."

Waddlewig blushed, his heart warm and happy. "Thank you, Pippa," he said softly.

Pippa beamed, "You're welcome, Waddlewig! It was fun to learn together."

From that day on, Waddlewig became the cheeriest penguin in the land of Frosty Feathers. And every night, as the stars twinkled above, Pippa and her friends remembered the joy of being kind and polite.

"Good night, Waddlewig," Pippa would say before they tucked in for bed, feeling the warmth of friendship all around.

And with a content sigh, they'd fall asleep, dreaming of more polite parades to come. The end.
