The Polite Parade
Once upon a time, in a twinkling garden full of magic, there lived a little fairy named Cora. Cora had wings that shimmered like rainbows and a smile that lit up even the cloudiest day. She loved to play among the flowers and sing with the butterflies. But most of all, Cora loved to make new friends.
One sunny morning, a gentle breeze whispered through the garden, carrying a special invitation. "Please join the Polite Parade," the breeze hummed softly. The parade only happened once a year, and every fairy in the garden looked forward to it. The air smelled like sweet honey and the grass felt soft under tiny feet.
Cora's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Please and thank you," she chirped, fluttering her wings. "I can't wait to join!" She knew the Polite Parade was not just about fun; it was a magical time when fairies showed their best manners and kindness.
As Cora flew through the garden, she met her friend Twinkle, a fairy with silver wings that jingled like tiny bells. "Hello, Twinkle," said Cora. "Would you like to come to the Polite Parade with me?"
Twinkle clapped her hands. "Thank you, Cora! I would love to!" she chimed. Together, they danced through the meadow, spreading joy as they went.
Soon, they saw Glimmer, a fairy who loved to paint flowers with dazzling colors. "Hello, Glimmer," Cora greeted. "Please join us for the parade!"
Glimmer smiled and nodded. "Thank you for asking, Cora. I will bring my paintbrushes to color the day!"
As the three fairies fluttered on, they felt the warm sun kissing their cheeks and heard the cheerful chirping of birds. The garden was alive with happiness, and Cora's heart was full.
But then, they came upon a grumpy fairy named Grumble, who was hiding behind a large mushroom. Grumble didn't believe in rainbows or happy songs. He preferred the quiet and his own company.
"Hello, Grumble," Cora said kindly. "Please join us for the Polite Parade. It will be lots of fun."
Grumble frowned. "No thank you. I don't like parades," he grumbled quietly.
Cora thought for a moment. "Please, Grumble," she said softly. "Maybe if you join us, you'll have a change of heart."
Grumble sighed deeply but decided to follow them, if only to see what the fuss was about. They flew together, and Cora noticed a tiny smile begin to creep onto Grumble’s face.
As they reached the heart of the garden, they found a big circle of fairies waiting to start the parade. The air was filled with laughter and the scent of fresh blossoms. The leader of the parade, a wise old fairy named Tinkle, raised her wand. "Thank you all for coming," she said, her voice as soft as a lullaby. "Let's show the garden our best manners and share the magic of please and thank you."
The parade began, and Cora floated beside Twinkle, Glimmer, and Grumble. Together, they waved to the flowers, who danced in the breeze, and thanked the butterflies for their pretty songs. Cora felt so happy, her wings fluttered like never before.
Then, something wonderful happened. Grumble, who had been so grumpy, began to hum along with the others. He said "please" to the daisies who tickled his nose, and "thank you" to the sun for its warm rays. For the first time, Grumble felt the magic of the parade.
As the day went on, Cora noticed how everyone was smiling and laughing. The garden seemed to glow with kindness. The fairies twirled and spun, their wings making soft whooshing sounds. Each "please" and "thank you" wrapped the garden in a warm blanket of happiness.
Finally, as the sun began to set, and the sky turned pink and gold, the parade came to an end. Cora looked at Grumble, who was smiling wide now. "Thank you for joining us," she said.
Grumble nodded, his eyes twinkling. "Thank you, Cora," he whispered. "You taught me the magic of please and thank you."
With their hearts full, the fairies said their goodbyes and flew back to their little homes, leaving trails of sparkle behind them. Cora lay down on her soft petal bed, her heart as light as a feather.
"Goodnight, garden," she said, as she snuggled into the petals. "Thank you for the lovely day."
And as she drifted off to sleep, the garden whispered back, "Please come again, dear Cora."
The Polite Parade had filled the air with kindness, and every little fairy felt its magic deep inside. And so, Cora and her friends slept soundly, dreaming of the next parade, where the magic of please and thank you would shine even brighter.
